After preliminary tests in some 1,000 Italian households, Alice Home TV will initially be aired in four cities (Rome, Milan, Bologna and Palermo) with an estimated customer base of two million families. The service will reach a further 17 cities as of January 2006 (Bari, Naples, Padua, Cagliari, Genoa, Florence, Alessandria, Modena, Venice, Verona, Turin, Trieste, Catania, Brescia, Biella, Sondrio and Reggio Emilia) reaching a further four million prospective families by close of 2006 (BP).

Telecom Italia to launch IPTV service

Telecom Italia launched its IPTV service today (December 2), providing access to content such as films, sports, news and music. After preliminary tests in some 1,000 Italian households, Alice Home TV will initially be aired in four cities (Rome, Milan, Bologna and Palermo) with an estimated customer base of two million families.

The service will reach a further 17 cities as of January 2006 (Bari, Naples, Padua, Cagliari, Genoa, Florence, Alessandria, Modena, Venice, Verona, Turin, Trieste, Catania, Brescia, Biella, Sondrio and Reggio Emilia) reaching a further four million prospective families by close of 2006 (BP).
